The commercial commissioning of RWE Gas Storage West's first hydrogen storage facility at its site in Gronau-Epe is planned for 1 July 2027. Once it has been fully commissioned, a planned injection and withdrawal capacity of 50,000 m3/h each with a working gas volume of around 38 million m3 will be commercially usable.
Around 30% of these storage capacities are currently still not booked from 1 January 2028. RWE Gas Storage West is planning to market this unused storage capacity in the first half of 2025. As a first step, a demand survey in the form of a market enquiry, which will be published on this website at short notice, is planned.
Interested parties are cordially invited to report their demand and willingness to book as part of the planned market enquiry in order to support further marketing planning and product design.
