Ideal neighbourhood: Gronau-Epe does not only have one of the largest cavern fields worldwide, it is also located close to the German-Dutch border. For this reason RWE Gas Storage West operates here not only one H-Gas and one L-Gas storage facility, but also a storage with G-Gas quality (Groningen gas). The storage features four caverns with a working gas volume of about 0.2 billion cubic metres and is connected to the trade hub TTF via the Dutch long-distance grid of Gas Transport Services B.V. (GTS).
