The South of Saxony-Anhalt offers ideal geological conditions for underground natural gas storages. The cavern storage Staßfurt covers a working gas volume of about 0.6 billion cubic metres. It is connected to the long-distance grid of ONTRAS as well as to the distribution grid of MITNETZ Gas GmbH in the market area Trading Hub Europe (THE).
